Privacy Policy
How StoryViewly handles information when you search for and view stories.
Searches
StoryViewly sends the username you search for from its server to the Instagram Scraper Stable API through RapidAPI. This request retrieves available public stories. We do not ask for an Instagram password, registration, or payment details.
Request information
The application temporarily caches public profile results, including story metadata and media links, in Google Firestore for reuse for up to 15 minutes. It does not download or store the image and video files. It uses temporary request counters to limit abuse. An IP address is converted to a keyed hash so requests from the same address share an allowance across servers. Raw IP addresses are not stored in these counters. Expired records are no longer used and are removed through automatic database cleanup, which may happen after their expiry time.
Usernames appear in page URLs and may remain in browser history or hosting logs. Hosting and API providers may process IP addresses, timestamps, and request headers under their own policies. StoryViewly does not use your Instagram account, so searches do not add you to a story's viewer list. This does not make you anonymous to the services described on this page.
Bot protection
Before a story lookup, Cloudflare Turnstile checks the request to help prevent automated abuse. The check sends Cloudflare technical signals about your browser, device, and network, including your IP address, browser information, connection fingerprint, and the site origin. Our server verifies the result with Cloudflare before requesting stories. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for its data practices.
Images and videos
Media loads directly from Instagram or Meta content delivery servers. These servers receive your IP address and browser information when your browser requests media. Opening original media also connects you to a third-party address. These services have their own privacy practices; StoryViewly does not control how long they retain information.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
StoryViewly has no advertising or audience analytics integrations and does not set cookies for those purposes. Cloudflare, hosting, and media services have their own data and cookie practices. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy for information about its cookies.
