About StoryViewly

StoryViewly is a free, anonymous Instagram story viewer for public accounts. This page explains how it works and where its limits are.

What StoryViewly does

StoryViewly lets you watch active stories from public Instagram accounts in your browser. Enter a username or profile link to see photo and video stories, move between them, or open the original media. You do not need to register, pay, install an app, or sign in to Instagram.

How a lookup works

  1. You enter a username or profile link. Its format is checked before anything is sent.
  2. Cloudflare Turnstile checks your browser to block automated abuse.
  3. Our server requests the account's available stories from the Instagram Scraper Stable API through RapidAPI.
  4. Results are kept for up to 15 minutes, so repeat searches for the same profile load faster and use fewer provider requests.
  5. Your browser loads the photos and videos directly from Instagram's media servers. StoryViewly does not store copies of the files.

What anonymous means here

Instagram shows a story's viewers only for logged-in accounts that open it. StoryViewly never uses your Instagram account, so your name does not appear in the viewer list and the owner cannot see that you watched.

Anonymous does not mean invisible to every service. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and Instagram's media servers process technical details such as your IP address. The Privacy Policy describes this in full.

What StoryViewly cannot show

A public account may have no active stories. Results depend on the data provider and may be incomplete or temporarily unavailable. New stories and privacy changes can take up to 15 minutes to appear.

Fair use

To keep the service free, each visitor has a daily limit on new lookups. Repeat searches served from the 15-minute cache do not count toward it. Viewing a story does not give you permission to reuse it. Content belongs to its creators.

Independence

StoryViewly is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram or Meta. Read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, or contact us with questions.
